About the Creator

Maria Fuller is the Founder and Thought Leader behind https://www.RaisingAPowerfulGirl.com and their podcast, whose mission is to foster Independence, Leadership and Strong Personal Identity in Girls so they can change the world and the recently launched Empowered Girl App for Clever, Creative and Inquisitive Girls. She is a daughter, sister, wife, mother, writer, advocate, creator, and collaborator for all things involving the Empowerment of women globally.

She graduated from Stony Brook University Medical Center with a BS in Health Science, minor in Emergency and Disaster Management and concentration in Women Studies. She worked as a critical care paramedic for years until a permanent injury on the job caused her to change her life direction with work but not without first teaching her of the importance of personal development skills to care for Body, Mind and Spirit as critical skills that all children need which are the foundations of her work.

She is a mom to two girls and has spent nearly a decade working with women of all ages to help shed unhealthy beliefs and break down stereotypes surrounding pregnancy, motherhood, body image, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, brain health, parenting, women in leadership and much more.

Maria believes that the change we need to see in this world begins with Raising a Powerful Girl and that means equipping girls with the tools they need to navigate this journey called life. With a rising rate of anxiety and depression in girls, Maria understands through her research and her own experience that teaching personal development skills at an early are a great first step towards empowering girls. Maria believes that all girls should understand and have healthy self-care practices in place for taking care of not only their bodies but their minds and spirit as well. She believes in the power of cultivating everyday gratitude and affirmation practices for boosting self-esteem and confidence as well as teaching mindfulness and mindset skills which are critical in today's fast-paced world as a must-have tool in developing leadership. Maria also believes in the importance and power of storytelling, vulnerability, and truth when speaking and how it can help break down barriers and walls that cause others to feel isolation which is one of the largest contributing factors to mental health issues today. She is a contributing writer to Arianna Huffington's Thrive Global and her work has been featured on numerous online publications and summits in cluding google and yahoo news. Maria is a sought out expert for her expertise in women and girls issues and her creative approach to empowering girls and their parents.

She believes each of her daughters was sent to her to remind her of a piece of herself she has lost on her journey from girl to adult. She lives with her husband and girls on a little river in Southbury CT. She and her girls can be found listening and singing to “This is Me”  in the car on the way to school.
